A Season to Wed Book Tour and Giveaway!

April 7, 2016

Hey Y’all! I can’t wait to share these novellas with you! I DEVOURED this book! It was such a quick read it was a little sad, but so very worth it! I’m thinking about reading the others in the Year of Weddings collection.

They’ve helped orchestrate the perfect day for countless couples. Now twelve new couples will find themselves in the wedding spotlight in the second Year of Weddings novella collection.

Love at Mistletoe Inn by Cindy Kirk

Sometimes the road to happiness is paved with youthful mistakes.

Ten years after what she thought was her almost-wedding, Hope Prentiss discovers that the ceremony counted—and, as fate would have it, the jilted John Burke has just ridden back into town. After spending some time with John and helping plan a Christmas wedding for a mystery couple, Hope begins to wonder if she really wants a divorce . . . or a real wedding of her own.

A Brush with Love by Rachel Hauck

Revealing the beauty in other women might be Ginger Winters’s specialty—but it will take an unexpected kind of love to help Ginger see the beauty in herself.

Ginger Winters will be the “beauty-maker” for the Alabama society wedding of the decade. But when high-school crush Tom Wells shows up looking for a haircut, Ginger’s thinly veiled insecurities threaten to keep her from love once again . . . despite Tom’s best efforts.

Serving Up a Sweetheart by Cheryl Wyatt

Meadow knows how to serve delicious food to match any wedding theme. But can she accept love when it’s served up on a silver platter?

Meadow Larson is having the mother of all Mondays when her roof caves in during a blizzard, right before the most important wedding contract of her career. Renovation contractor Colin McGrath offers to fix Meadow’s roof, even though he knows he is the last person she would accept help from.

But the more Meadow gets to know the new Colin, the more she realizes God may have something more permanent in store than a new catering kitchen.

My take:

Love at Mistletoe Inn

I could very easily invasion myself at the Boise Bridal Extravaganza with Hope and Amity! I helped my dad at gun shows around the South sell his book. I’ve found that I enjoy and miss conventions, shows, and similar events. I like being able to easily cover a lot of vendors at once. I hate to shop so this is a great way to get exposure with a variety of things. The barn wedding craze is alive and well on my Pinterest feed, so this was the perfect back drop to a very enjoyable story!

Hope and John have a run in 10 years after they almost got married. They are a very dynamic couple. It’s odd that two people of their background turned to one another for love. Verna should perhaps go into a different business! This was one of those novellas that flys by and lacks development of the characters, but that’s the purpose of them – to be short and sweet and that is exactly what you get with Love at Mistletoe Inn!

A Brush with Love

Rosebud, Alabama and snow at that! I was captivated from the first page! (It might help that I live in Mississippi and very rarely have snow – like Alabama.) Ginger feels like a person that you’ve known forever. She has a very unique story and I love stories that involve hairdressers and other small business owners (another reason I wanted to read this book!). I could see the shop and the rest of the town with very little effort. I find it easy to read books that I can easily relate to because visualizing the story happens without effort. I couldn’t quite decide on how Tom should look, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying his wit! Ruby – Jane sounds like the personal assistant that I desperately need! I would love to see how her story plays out Mrs. Hauck! (If you’ve read Once Upon A Prince – You’ll love this novella just as easily. She spins a great story for you!)

Serving Up a Sweetheart

Meadow – such an unusual name. I’ve heard it before, but it definitely suits her (and the rest of her family is well named also!) Larson (I had a teacher with the same last name in high school! I was picturing a slender blonde with blue eyes. Is that right Mrs. Wyatt?) Poor thing! Her roof caving in?! How often does that happen while you are catering in your kitchen? LOL! I really enjoyed that scene. I know it was supposed to be very scary for her, but I can see Meadow’s reaction playing out like it did with no problem at all!

Colin McGrath – Sounds like a great hero just from his name! His past with Meadow is complicated to say the least! I was very surprised at the direction the story line followed in regards to them, but was very glad to read the rest of the story to see where their story went!

A catering kitchen added into the mix! Yes please! This was a fascinating read from beginning to end. I look forward to reading more from Mrs. Wyatt!

I think all in all I was tied between A Brush with Love and Serving Up a Sweetheart as my favorite of this book of novellas! Thank you to Celebrate Lit for providing this book for free for my review! Be sure to check out the giveaway and the rest of the Tour!
