Did you take time to enter the sweepstakes that I posted about the other day? I LOVE the sweepstakes that coincide with the books/series Dani releases it really helps get a feel for the locations/scenarios involved in her writings…if NOT there is still time! Check it out!
Guys!!! This is the first book I’ve read in a couple months, but WOW! I loved Sabotaged, but this story and characters were SOOO good! I loved the chemistry and history between everyone in Cold Shot. The insight into the concept “Cold Shot” was very interesting and definitely not something I’ve given any thought to. Griffin and his friends sound VERY down to earth and the “crew” they pick up along the way sound like they are going to fit right in…I’m very much a history buff and at one point wanted to be a forensic (insert cool job description here) so this series will be right up my alley! LOL! I wanted to go to school at UT and learn at the Body Farm…this book brought it all back! If you like Bones, or NCIS (any of them) – pick up Dani’s new Chesapeake Valor series, starting with this-book one! Reading this book makes me want to read all of the Alaskan Courage Series, while I’m waiting for the next book in the Chesapeake Valor series to be released.
I’m not sure about you, but when I read-I’m completely engrossed in the story and can almost visualize the characters, much like if I was watching a movie. Dani has helped us out a little with some inspiration and background on both Griffin and Finley and inspiration for the setting…
I really liked Griffin and Finley’s story, but can’t wait to hear more about some of the other stories that are evolving in this series as well! Please let me know your favorite character so far and who you are waiting for to have their own story told!
I’ve been to the Chesapeake area once, when my aunt lived in the area, but my former boss spent a good deal of time up there – so I’ve heard a lot about the area (and the food!) If you are from the area or know a lot about it, I would love to hear your take on the area. I know it’s very different from the Mississippi Gulf Coast isn’t it?…except for the same Vibrio species…

In college, Griffin McCray and his four best friends had their lives planned out. Griffin and Luke Gallagher would join the Baltimore PD. Declan Gray would head to the FBI, and Parker Mitchell would go on to graduate school as a crime scene analyst. But then Luke vanished before graduation and their world–and friendships–crumbled.
Now Griffin is a park ranger at Gettysburg, having left life as a SWAT-team sniper when a case went bad. The job is mostly quiet–until the day he captures two relic hunters uncovering skeletal remains near Little Round Top. Griffin just wants the case to go away, but charming forensic anthropologist Finley Scott determines that the body is modern–a young social justice lawyer missing since spring–and all evidence points to the work of an expert sniper.
When FBI agent Declan Gray takes over the case, past and present collide. Griffin soon realizes he’ll need to confront some of the darkest days of his life if he–and those he cares about–are going to escape a downward spiral of murder that crosses continents.
